A set of large-size optics was forwarded to Belgian AMOS. Shvabe Holding Company of Rostec State Corporation cooperates with this company in implementing a project for an observatory in Eastern Anatolia (DAG).
The work was carried out by the Lytkarino Optical Glass Plant (LZOS). The Holding Company produced a secondary convex hyperbolic mirror with a diameter of 764 mm, and a tertiary elliptical mirror with a flat working surface of 890х650 mm. At the same time, the company completed the shaping of the telescope’s main concave hyperbolic mirror with a four-meter diameter.
Once launched, DAG will operate in the visible and near-infrared bands. It will become Turkey’s largest telescope, making the observatory itself the second-largest space observation center in Europe. The complex is built in the Karakaya mountains in Erzurum province at an altitude of 3,170 m.
