On Tuesday (IST), Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt made her much-awaited debut at the MET Gala, an annual fashion exhibition event held in New York. The theme of this year’s MET Gala was ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’, which paid homage to the iconic fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld. Alia stunned everyone with her appearance, wearing a dreamy white gown designed by Nepalese-American fashion designer Prabal Gurung.
Taking to her Instagram account, Alia shared pictures of herself from the event and described her outfit, which was inspired by Chanel’s bridal couture. Alia said that she has always been fascinated by the iconic Chanel brides, and Karl Lagerfeld’s genius shone through season after season in the most innovative and awe-inspiring couture. Her look was particularly inspired by supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel bridal look.
The beautiful sleeveless low-neck gown worn by Alia was made of 100,000 pearls, with a flowing skirt that added to its elegance. To complement the dress, Alia wore a single fingerless pearl embellished glove, silver and pearl jewelry, and a pearl bow on her hair. The glove and the pearls were added to pay tribute to Lagerfeld, who had a strong affinity for both elements.

Alia’s appearance at the MET Gala 2023 came just a few days after it was announced that she is gearing up for her Hollywood debut with the upcoming Netflix film, Heart of Stone. She will star alongside Gal Gadot in the film. Besides, the actress will be seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, opposite Ranveer Singh, later this year.
