The pandemic has disrupted the lives of students across the country. The interruption in the day-to-day lives of going to school, the uncertainty of the exams and lack of clarity on what lies ahead has put many students in a state of confusion and chaos. However, the students across 129 Akal Academies did not let the pandemic deter their high spirits and dedication towards value-based education.
As a result, 129 Akal Academy schools produced Class X and Class XII district and state toppers and an overall exceptional academic performance. Among the children who appeared for Class X, all have passed, with the topper scoring 99.4{c27255e51a72bad2a6cb30fe58330144c0418fbd7e8dd39587873a85d63c5975} and 10 district toppers across Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, 98{c27255e51a72bad2a6cb30fe58330144c0418fbd7e8dd39587873a85d63c5975} students who appeared for Class XII boards passed, among them 8 were district toppers across Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
Gursimran Kaur, a student of Akal Academy, Baru Sahib has bagged the first position in Himachal Pradesh with 98.2 percent marks in CBSE boards of Class XII. Gursimran belongs to a poor family and reside in Gandori, a remote and small village in Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh. To come out of the circle of poverty and lead a life of dignity, her mother moved to Baru Sahib and became a teacher.
Akal Academy is the pioneer in ensuring academic excellence backed by a value-based system. Hence, the students have consistently performed well academically. In fact, in 2019, 15 students from 129 Akal Academy schools built in rural areas were district toppers across Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana. Notably, over the last five years, district toppers of Patiala and Mukstar have been students of Akal Academy schools.
Importantly, such impressive performance and dedication towards education among these children sustains well beyond school. In 2019 alone, Anmoldeep Singh, a student Akal Academy bagged the 9th position in the All India CA examination, Ramandeep Singh came 20th in the NEET-PG All India examination and Vikramjeet Singh was selected as an Agricultural Development Officer by PPSC. These students were a part of one of the rural Akal Academy schools.
These results reaffirm our belief that providing high-quality, value-based and modern education to children in rural areas is exactly what is needed to bring them to the forefront, so that they can realize their potential and become the leaders of tomorrow.
