His new track about the effects of COVID-19 pandemic on nature, Farmaan, came out on May 5, 2020.
They say music can transcend barriers – between language, race, and cultural differences. Music can be a solace for humans but work as an ode to nature at the same time too. Manie Singh is a strong believer in the power of music, maintaining that it can bridge gaps between different people around the world, and send them the right message about issues that matter. This is what his new release, Farmaan, a track focusing on the effects of the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is all about.
Manie takes his music very seriously and spends hours in the studio to make sure that the quality of the track is just the way he wants it to be. He is inherently good at composing music, and he believes that this is the greatest gift that God has bestowed upon him. His voice is pretty unique as well, allowing him to sing and perform a versatile range of songs – starting from spiritual ragas to the more energetic dance numbers. Either way, his music can leave you breathless, which is exactly what he does with Farmaan.
Farmaan is a song unlike any other. Whilst many other artists have tried to portray the effects of the pandemic on human life through their muse, Manie takes a look at the lockdown through a completely different lens. Farmaan is a song about nature, and it is meant for nature. The song centers on wildlife, who have reclaimed their territory whilst humans are being forced to retreat into their cages. It touches on many strong themes that are relevant for humans today, such as spirituality, the power of nature, and the importance of living in harmony with Mother Nature by humanity’s side.
Released only in May, Farmaan has already become a fan favorite of many music enthusiasts. The music video of Farmaan, released from Manie Singh’s official Facebook page, manieofficial, has already received more than a Million views and over 11,500 shares. The music video is also available in Manie Singh’s official YouTube Channel, ManieOfficial, where it has claimed more than 100,000 views within a month. He also runs an Instagram page, manieofficial, which he updates regularly.
Although Farmaan certainly deserves attention, this is not his first big project. He already has an album to his name – Outburst. Created with sophisticated lyrics, catchy beats, and pleasant music influenced by his Hindi and Punjabi heritage, Outburst features many popular songs such as Aankhon Se (2014) released on T-Series, Crazy (2014) released on T-Series, Tang Lang Lang (2015) released on Saga Hits, and Oh Celina (2017) released on Zee Music.
What makes Manie’s music stand out from the others’? According to him, it is his imagination and technical skills. His songs are full of liveliness and energy, but, at the same time, bound with an element of Sufi music that makes them sound “soothing” to his fans. He is also an extremely talented composer, with an outstanding ability to reverse engineer any track, fuse it with a completely dissimilar genre, and produce a masterpiece. Alongside that, he has a charming, profound voice that can span three octaves, allowing him to produce diverse songs varying greatly in pitch and harmonics. In the future, Manie aims to keep working in the Indian music industry, experimenting with his musical abilities, and to make a name for himself in the world. He wants his exceptional abilities to be recognized, enabling Indian music to take its place in the world map.
The talented music composer, lyricist, and singer Manie Singh certainly seem to be going that way, climbing the ladder to success slowly but steadily – and Farmaan is the newest stepping stone toward his goal.
